Makcik keropok. Its a legend about a lady going around door to door selling keropok. (a type of cracker) If you refuse to buy any, she releases a Pontianak (a vengeful ghost) into your house. Best solution is not to open the door.

there used to be an insane asylum by my house in the 70s. It is probably five minutes away from my house if that. But, they tore it down in the 90s because it was just a giant eye sore, and had a dark history of mistreating patients. There is a cemetery on the property with hundreds of unnamed people who died there.
In the early 2000s, Walmart bought the land and wanted to build a walmart there since you would be able to see it from the highway. They excavated and such, and the day before they were set to start construction a huge landslide happened in the middle of the night that blocked the high way for days. If it would have happened at rush hour tons of people would have died.
Ultimately, it was deemed unsafe territory to build on, so it remains empty. Except for all the bike trails through the area. But no one ever rides during night time lol. I guess the people who died there didn’t want to be chilling underneath a walmart’s aisle 10.

We have a chair that’s been untouched since the 1960s in our schools boiler room. The janitor swears that a boy got locked down there by these other kids the day before summer break and died from the heat. He claims that the chair moves and that the door handle moves like he’s still there trying to get out.

its not really a known creepy urban legend, but in the 1800s in the owyhee mountains in idaho there was a group of hunters staying in a cabin and after failing to come back to their families a search party was sent out to look for them, they found the cabin, locked from the inside, with the window also locked from the inside. and they found all of the hunters dead with their heads crushed. no one knows who did it or how. but the incident repeated itself in like the 1970s or something.

Black Shucks; big, black, ghostly/demonic dogs with glowing red eyes that are supposed to be omens of death. They generally appear on roads at night. There’s apparently a few around town and some drag chains too. Also one is actually a bear, but I have no idea why we have a ghostly demonic bear because we don’t even have normal bears in this country.

I live in Romania and as a kid the most common legend was the “black ambulance” that would steal kids and harvest their organs and that kids’ bodies were to be found a few days later abandoned on a field with some money for the funeral. Also, in my town our parents would never let us go to the cinema because there was this legend about a man who wound put AIDS infected needles on the seats.

We have 3 mysterious men in a car called The Gaurdians (yes that’s what we call them) along Montana highway 464. People have told experiences where they have car trouble and three men in a car drive up and help them out. Other people talk about headlights that disappear in places where they shouldn’t disappear. We also have a Native American in a jean jacket and jeans who materializes in front of cars before they can swerve out of the way. When the driver checks for a victim, no body is found.

We have little people (like 6in tall) that live in our forests. They stay well hidden unless you’re all by yourself and vulnerable, then they like to mess with you for fun.

Not really creepy, but there’s one house in my hometown that is said to be haunted. There’s a tray with a golden teapot on it, and the tray has scratch marks on it. That tray has been sitting in the same location for years, remaining completely untouched, and still, to this day no one has touched it. Some of my friends insist that it’s haunted. There’s also an urban legend abut how an electrician (or someone with a similar job) fell off ofa ladder while setting up one of the light in the middle school gym. His ghost is said to haunt the gym at night whenever the lights are turned
This house was built in the 1800s in Ontario, Canada. Carl beck, along with his nine children and wife lived in the house. He was a lumber magnate and the owner Beck industries. According to the reports, two of his children died at a young age in the house and his wife also passed really soon as a result all the responsibility of the children came on the eldest daughter.
The eldest daughter, “Mary ” had to look after the other children all the time. After some time, she had a fight with her father because she wanted to marry a guy and Carl beck did not agree on that, he did not find the guy fit to marry his daughter. Mary ran away from home. Before Carl beck died he divided the property equally amongst all of his children except for Mary who only got one dollar.
The house is now available for people to book for staying at nights. People who have stayed there have claimed of seeing an apparition of a man in a suit and other apparitions that are believed to be of Carl beck and his daughters. There have been multiple reports of objects moving on their own and lights turn on and off for apparently no reason. Some people have encountered an angry spirit that they believe to be of eldest daughter, Mary. There have been sightings of the spirits outside on the road too. The house is listed as a haunted house on airbnb and those who want to experience a chilling night can stay there.
The truth is that our brain works in mysterious ways and experts still have a lot to figure out about our brain. There are many psychological phenomena that we have some kind of knowledge about and yet new facts and odd things are discovered on a daily basis. We encounter a lot of things on our day to day activities that leave us completely perplexed. Redditors share their knowledge about some of those weird occurrences that can be attributed to a psychological phenomena.

Blindsight-blind people who have an awareness of their surroundings. Their brains still process data from their eyes at a certain level, they just can’t consciously see anything.

I’m not sure how true this is but a woman was diagnosed through voices she had heard telling her exactly where to go and where the tumor was. If anything its a good read.
r/weddinglion Your brain kind of defrags irrelevant information. If you go on a long, uneventful drive, you might only remember the first and last ten minutes (or something unusual in between), but your brain deems it pointless.

The Frequency Illusion/Baader-Meinhof phenomenon.
The frequency illusion is when you start noticing something for the first time and suddenly it appears that this something suddenly crops up everywhere. In reality this is not true. A good example is a (not currently trending) word you heard for the first time. Suddenly you read and hear this word all the time.

I had a customer who “knew” that her entire family had been replaced by actors. Those had gone through extensive surgery and training to mimic their body language, way of speaking and such while all memories of the relative they replaced had been transferred to them with a chip in the arm. She told me she was a nurse and had witnessed this in other cases. “It’s really crazy! This actor lives in the house of your relative, looks like him, speaks like him, knows everything that happened 20 years ago. But this isn’t your relative!”
She was 100% convinced of this, not the smallest doubt. Her main concern was what happened to her real family. Only years later I learnt this is called Capgras delusion. I hope she got help, and that she could ‘reunite’ with her family.

People can be made to remember things that never happened.
This is a large part of what caused the “satanic panic”

Alice in Wonderland Syndrome. When I was a little girl lying in bed I would sometimes feel like I was gigantic, like my body was taking up the entire room, or microscopically small. Winds up this is an actual thing that happens to a fairly large amount of people, although normally just a few fleeting instances in their lifetime.

placebo effect is the one that is the strangest to me. it’s so wild, like fake thing that causes a real effect. what’s even more wild is the placebo effect works on animals, AND it works on humans when you TELL them they’re getting a placebo and show them it’s a placebo. it’s so weird.
r/Warpmind
I don’t recall the scientific term with any certainty, but Doorway Syndrome.
Basically, you think of one thing, then walk through a doorway, and it’s gone, filed away into matters relevant to the room you just left. This is why you often forget why you just walked into the kitchen.
The Aokigahara forest is located in the northwestern flank of Japan’s Mount Fuji. It has been a popular tourist destination for years.
The forest has a historical reputation as a home to “yurei”, ghouls of the dead in Japanese mythology. In recent years Aokigahara has been tainted by the name of ” Suicide forest” because of the large number of suicides happening there throughout the year.
Every year more and more bodies are found there. In 2003, 105 bodies were found in the forest. In 2010, police recorded more than 200 people having attempted suicide in the forest that year. Suicides are said to increase during March, the end of fiscal year in Japan. The increasing number of suicides has led the officials to place signs at the forest’s entry urging people of suicidal nature to seek help.
Moreover, a lot of people believe that in old times when there were famines, people used to take the oldest members of their family and leave them in the forest to die. Although many believe this to be a hoax and an urban legend that has gained popularity over time because of the internet. The paranormal activities are sometimes attributed to these events as well because the forest is ancient.
The traditional belief was that if the bodies of the dead were not cleared immediately, their souls would linger there forever. People travelling in the forest often find clothing and sometimes even a body. Due to the vastness of the forests, people who enter the forests carry a string along tape so that they can find their way back out. It’s very easy to get lost in the forest and gps and mobile phones do not work properly inside the forest. Many times these tapes have been purposefully cut off by someone and due to that people have got lost there.
People have reported hearing blood curdling screams while wandering in the forests. A reporter heard a scream from somewhere in the forest, he went to investigate the source of sound but found a dead body which looked like it had been there for a long time and could not be the source of the sound. There have been alleged ghost sightings and people have seen white figures drifting in between the trees. People have found curses and sometimes they feel they are being followed. The atmosphere inside the forest is in itself very eerie. Trees grow in twisted turning shapes and the roots are spread all around the floor making movement difficult, these trees are closely knit and packed blocking any kind of air and sound making the forest eerily silent where you can even hear your breath. People often have difficulty breathing and they fall sick during their visit to the forest.
Aokigahara has seen a fair share of death and paranormal. It is believed that the forest is one of the most if not the most haunted places in the world. However, this does not stop people from entering the forests. It still attracts a lot of tourists, travellers, youtubers and paranoramal fanatics hoping to get a glimpse of the paranoramal.
Let me start this off by saying I don’t have kids. My coworker at an old job invited me over for dinner one night. I went over, they had a little girl who was like 4 or 5 at the time. So we have dinner, she goes to bed, we’re all sitting around talking about business, having a few cocktails, whatever. It’s like 11 oclock, and the little girl comes down the stairs, half awake and says “mommy the no-no man is here.” And she’s just staring right through her dad. Like you can tell, it’s not directly at him, it’s through him. And all of a sudden we hear this bang, and the window right behind him, had slammed shut. It wasn’t a traditional window, it was one of those ones that you crank the arm to prop it open. Left the whiskey, got in the car and hauled ass the fuck outta there. Few months later, another coworker was arrested for aggravated assault and stalking in relation to the family. But I know for a fact we looked at the window, like we looked outside, no one was there. Got super spooked out by that one.
My daughter laughing in her bed. then asking if tickled her feet Its been years and it still makes me shiver.

It wasnt something he came out with. But about a year ago, my then 2.5 year old son and i were playing. Sitting on the bed, laughing, him facing me. All of a sudden he looked behind me and his smile fades to a look of horror, like he was about to cry but couldnt move or make a sound. I whipped around ready to fight and there was nothing there. I looked back at him and asked him what he was looking at, and he just ignored me and started playing again
When my youngest daughter was 4 we were watching TV and something about aliens came on and there was a drawing of a Grey. She looked at the screen and announced “He looks like the man who sees me in the night”.
r/TMZombies Not a parent, but I was babysitting this kid across the street about a year ago. It was about 10 pm. The kid was in bed and was watching some TV show when saw something out of the corner of my eye. I looked and it was the kid just kinda staring at me. I asked if he was ok and all he said was –
“The shadow man won’t leave us alone.” Needless to say damn near shat bricks

My 3 year old daughter having a conversation with the ghost of my recently deceased dad. Why I told my mum about it, she told me did the same when was 3 and my gran died.
Stayed with a family member for a few months while we were moving houses. My daughter was a little under two, and would always look at this one spot on the stairs that you could see from the living room (the stairs would go one direction, had a landing and go in another direction at a 90 degree angle). She would watch it and smile, or point at it. Anywhere picked her up, she would be fixated on this one spot. My family member mentioned one day it was the favorite napping place of her beloved cat that died happily and peacefully of old age.
The Ancient Ram Inn is a former pub located in Wotton-under-Edge, a market town within the Stroud district of Gloucestershire, England. It was built in 1145 to house the masons and other builders employed to construct the neighbouring church. After some years a Reverend started residing in the house. In the 1000 years of its existence the ownership and residency have changed many times. After the priest the history of the inn is not well known but during the 1960s the inn was used as a pub. In the late 1960s the property was bought by John Humpries who protected it from vandalism.
Legend has it that before construction the site was a 5000 year old pagan burial ground. The hauntings and paranormal activity makes sense when a property is built on a pagan burial ground. During the construction of a church near the property, several constructions were also done around the inn that may have led to ,according to what many paranormal researchers believe, as the opening of the portal of dark energy.
When John Humpries moved to the property, on the first night itself the spirits made themselves known. They reportedly dragged him in the house. People believe that the spirits that haunt the inn are not some normal ghosts and entities but rather they are demonic entities because when one enters the property they can feel the maliciousness inside. They can sense the air becoming thicker, difficulty in breathing as if they are not wanted there. Paranormal researchers believe that the presence of the portal of dark energy allows these entities to come and go at will.
During his residence at the property, John Humpries recovered many peculiar things from inside the house. Skeletal remains of children, evidence of devil worship rituals.
The paranormal activities were so intense that his wife and children refused to live there and moved out of the property, but John Humpries did not leave the property. In 2016, John Humpries broke his leg and at 87 years old he could not look after himself and his daughter tried to find a carer but nobody agreed to work there. In the end they had to hire two carers because everyone was scared to work there alone. Even then the carers would sometimes be seen on the cctv running scared and screaming.
The staircase
There are several spirits that are known to haunt the inn. The most famous among them are-
A 16th century Witch that was supposedly killed during the witch trials.
The children that were ritualistically killed in the place that the inn was built or maybe after it was built.
The Innkeepers daughter hung herself in the attic.
A baby’s wail can be heard in the kitchen.
The Bishop’s room
The Bishop’sroom is said to be the most haunted room where even John Humpries did not enter without knocking. Dark and evil spirits are said to haunt this room where bishops used to stay.
The ancient building is a hub for paranormal activity and the spirits are believed to pass through from there at will. Nowadays the inn hosts tours for those interested in creating a contact with other-worldly. Visitors are said to have been sick, pushed and even scratched while alone inside the inn. The ancient Ram’s inn has featured in several tv shows, most famous of them being the ghost adventures.
Whether one believes in the paranormal or not, those who have visited or stayed in the inn agree that there is something terribly wrong with that place.
Pocatello is one of the largest cities in Idaho with a rich history. In the early 19th century traders moved to the region in numbers because of the riches of the region. During the 1860s after the gold rush even more and more people started settling in Pocatello. In the later years people who had permanently settled there turned to agriculture. Because of its history Pocatello is considered to be one of the most haunted cities in the whole of the USA.
One of the most haunted locations in Pocatello is the Pocatello high school. This school was built in 1892 and was one of the most majestic buildings of that time occasionally hosting concerts and athletic events. The school was completely burnt down in 1914 due to a fire in the boiler room and was rebuilt again.
The paranormal activity was first reported at the school in the 1940s. There is a story about two girls who made a suicide pact. One girl hung herself while the other girl backed out. The spirit of that girl was sighted by many people after that and sometimes people have an encounter with the spirit even to this day. After her death, people would smell her favourite perfume out of nowhere, other hauntings include a piano being played at night when no one is inside the school, apparitions seen standing looking at people through the library window when people are standing outside and from outside of the library window when people are standing inside. People believe the apparition to be the spirit of a young boy that died after drowning in the school’s swimming pool. The staff would hear continuous whispering inside the building even at night when nobody should have been inside the building.
Nearly everybody at the school knows about it being haunted. The staff and the students all agree that there’s something off about the building. Toilets randomly flush, doors mysteriously close, and some have reported either seeing or feeling the presence of an apparition.
However, there came a lot more evidence for those who were still skeptical about the hauntings. In 2014,a video was captured by the school’s security camera in which a dark mass can be seen walking in the school towards the bathroom. The video went viral and paranormal investigators believe that the video is one of the most authentic pieces of evidence proving the existence of the supernatural.
Dreamworld amusement park located in queensland is the largest theme park in Australia boasting over 40 rides and attractions. The park is made up of several themed lands: Ocean Parade, DreamWorks Experience, ABC Kids World, Tiger Island, Main Street, Gold Rush Country, WhiteWater World and Corroboree. These lands have a collection of rides, animal exhibits, shows, food outlets and merchandise shops.
Nowadays, the theme park does not attract the same amount of crowds that it used to attract back in the day. The park is now said to be haunted. In 2001,the theme park was used as a shooting location for a TV reality show “Big brother”. The production staff saw and heard many unexplainable things. Over the years, many people who have visited the theme park have reported witnessing some sort of paranormal activity. The hauntings at the park occur frequently. A spirit of a young girl has been sighted wandering and it often appears as a reflection on the mirror, other events include hearing whispers when nobody is around and mysterious fog appearing out of nowhere.
Another apparition said to be of Jack darke has been sighted at the buzz saw ride. People still don’t know how he died. He is usually sighted in between midnight and 3am on nights when there aren’t any clouds and it is a full moon night. It is believed that has spirit has attached itself to the buzzsaw ride and occasionally appears beside people on rides.
The Dreamworld amusement park is considered to be the most haunted place in Australia.
Was coming back on the plane from a very important job interview and I thought I blew it. I was spacing out during the entire flight and when the plane landed and I finally got up to grab my bags an older woman 3 aisles down from me looked straight at me and said “don’t worry, it’ll be ok. You’ll get it”.
I reflexively thanked her and ignored what she said but a few hours later I got a call that I got the job. Only then did I remember what she said.
I still don’t know why she said that and how she knew what my problem was.
Back in 1997, I was aged 8. I shared a room with my younger brother who was 4 at the time. We used to have our grandparents over for dinner most nights and it wasn’t uncommon for them to stay long after we had gone to bed. They would come and kiss us goodbye in bed when they were going to leave.
This one summers day, I woke up during the night and saw my grandad. It wasn’t unusual like said. I said “Hi Grandad, are you leaving now?”, he came and sat on my bed and said “Yes, I’m saying goodbye for now.” He kissed me and then went and sat on my brothers bed and said kissed him as well. Then he left. My childhood intuition picked up that he was a bit sad.
Next morning, I went into the kitchen to find my mum crying. She told me that my Grandad died last night of a sudden heart attack. I said “How can that be, I saw him last night, he came and said good night to me.” My mum said that my grandparents left shortly after I went to bed last night. I also remembered that my grandpa said goodbye and not goodnight.
It was quite a shock but at the same time a little comforting too. I don’t remember a lot from my childhood but this is a memory that wont forget.
Edit: Thank you everyone for the likes, awards and comments. Very much appreciated!
I was walking in woods by the sea in southern England and I came across a rock formation that had a sign The Wishing Seat. It was rather like a giant throne, although obviously natural, not man-made. I sat on it, and, entirely frivously made a wish. As was sitting on it, a young family passed along the path in front me; a man, woman, boy, and girl, all very ordinary in dress and appearance but strikingly beautiful.
So the following year I was walking along the path again, but in a different month and at a different time of day. I came across the Wishing Seat again and sat on it, and the same family passed by again. The world is full of coincidences, some significant, and some not, but this seemed a rather a long coincidence.
This story is hard to explain, but still get shivers when I think of it.
He was a customer was helping out. Honestly there was nothing that really stood out with him. He was handsome, but in a normal way. He dressed normal. Talked normal. Was blandly friendly, as you are with strangers. Just a normal upper-middle class type guy. The only thing that really stood out was his blue eyes. Not in a goofy supernatural type way, he just had very very blue eyes.
But for some reason he made every hair on my neck stand on end. Alarm bells were going off in my head like crazy, all I wanted to do was hide. I have NEVER felt this way, before or since. Even when I was followed home by someone, have never felt such gut deep “you are in danger” as I did with this guy.
After ringing him through, he reached out to shake my hand. This is not common at all here, but out of politeness I took it and shook. And INSTANTLY got so nauseous I almost gagged. The moment I got nauseous he just held my hand and smiled, and something in that smile made me absolutely sure he knew what was feeling and he enjoyed it. I’m not religious in any way, but remember thinking in that moment “oh fuck, is this the devil?”
After he left was still so sick feeling had to go to the back and sit down.
I’m not sure if he was a serial killer or what, but to this day I have never experienced something even close to that encounter. I absolutely felt bone deep certainty that I was in some sort of danger. I felt every bit the prey.
It’s a hard story to explain, because it’s all based on feelings, so I haven’t told that many people about it. But to this day it is absolutely one of the scariest and weirdest things have experienced.
r/unknown I live in a small town, with very few black people around (central Europe).
I was pretty down because of a girl, and went for kebab. While I was standing in a queue for kebab, in the pub right next to it, there was a woman that caught my attention, because of two things, initially because of her race that’s just uncommon to see there, another the fact that for sure never seen her before, despite living in this small town my entire life and going around this pub every day. Another thing I noticed was that she didn’t order anything, she just sat there by the table alone.
Then I ordered my food, and while waiting for it, the woman leaned over the fence that separates kebab place from the pub, looked directly at me and offered me an ice cream. I accepted the offer, and immidiatelly after that she looked me in the eyes, smiled a bit and clearly, clamly said,,I love you”.
Then as received my kebab, I turned around where she was, and she was gone. Vanished as quickly as she appeared.
I inspected the ice cream, and it seemed ok and package was intact, it was delicious.
TLDR: Unknown, but very kind stranger gave me ice cream, said “I love you” when I needed it. And then vanished.
There was this kid I used to hang out with when was around 8 yo, and it still obsesses me
He wasn’t from my school, and neither was he in the only other school in town, one day he just showed up at the end of school day and played with my friends and I, just like kids do
He was really nice, polite, clean but he just seemed to have no family. He would never talk about his parents and avoided conversations about family. There was some sort of orphanage nearby but friends who lived there said that he didn’t live with them.
He was weird but in a… weird way. He was nice and fun, yet really mature for a 8yo kid. He had this emotional intelligence, he understood people, talked very well about the others’ feelings but barely showed his. He had this strange aura. He would start really deep conversations, that were oddly deep for kids our age. He also had a smooth voice, at an age when most of the kids have a voice that tempt adults to make em mute. One day, one of my friends lost his grandma and he found oddly accurate words to reassure him, that scene is still in my head to this day. On the other hand, he knew no cultural stuff. Every film, cartoons, comics, tv shows, he wouldn’t know. We showed him stuff like WWE, Dragon Ball and other manga/anime and he became really fan.
The only times he would act childish was when we wanted to know more about his life. He would answer funny and barely comprehensive things like some kids do. Today I’m a hundred percent sure he did that on purpose.
I really looked up to him although he was no leader or whatever. He was weird in a cool way, or cool in a weird way, at an age when a weird kid is just a weird kid no one wants to fw. He felt out of this world to me.
My mother had a strange feeling about him, and years later asked her about him and she told me that she couldn’t do anything because he was so nice and polite, but to her he wasn’t a child and seemed really weird.
He just hung out with my friends and I for about a year, I have great memories with him and I feel like he taught us much. One day he just stopped coming to play in our neighbourhood and no one saw him again
I have more anecdotes about him, and as time passes more things feel wrong/weird to me. I have a deep feeling that I met someone too special or whatever, I’m not that much into supernatural stuff yet I could start believing in lot of things just because of this kid.
There was a young woman, about my age at that time (early 20’s), sitting alone at a nearly empty coffee shop. She seemed like she was trying not to cry, so I went over and asked if I could sit with her.
We talked for hours. About everything and nothing at the same time. She didn’t go into detail about what was going on with her, but she felt like there was no hope.
I did my best to encourage her; told her not to give up. Tried to give her reasons to hold on, thought of ideas that might give her a spark of hope.
The coffee shop was closing. I wrote my phone number down and told her that I would love to hang out with her again. And she could call me anytime. She looked at me and told me that everything I said to her wasn’t for her to hear, it was for me. I hadn’t told her that I was in fact suicidal. I had originally gone to the coffee shop to think about how to best kill myself. While talking to her, I figured if I could maybe help someone else not feel the way I do, I wouldn’t kill myself, at least not yet.
She not only saved my life that day, but gave my whole life a new purpose filled with hope. I’m a therapist now, I help people all day.
She hugged me then walked out the door. I ran after her because she forgot the napkin with my number on it. I was no more than 2 seconds behind her. I got outside and there was no one there.
One evening in winter I didn’t leave work till almost 7pm, so I was walking home and thought fuck it I’ll cut through the park to get home quicker, even though it’s really poorly lit. A couple of minutes into the park I could hear a group of people behind me and in front of me and was thinking “fuck I’m going to be jumped”, up ahead there was a lamp post with a CCTV camera on it so thought I’ll stop there and at least I’ll get jumped on camera. As stood beneath this light, this really tall woman jogged over and stopped next to me, I’m six feet tall and she was way taller than me. She asked me “is it okay if I walk with you?” and I was like sure okay I guess. She walked with me to the edge of the park, talking about how dodgy the park was at night, as soon as we got to the edge of the park, she told me to have a good night then jogged back into the park. It was a really weird experience, I felt certain I would have been mugged or something if she wasn’t there. I walked through that park every day for about a year and never saw her again.
Europe’s first grand hotel vowed European royalty with electric lights, hydraulic lifts and air conditioning when it opened in 1865. It was the largest and the most modern hotel around the city and it still pulls fans from around the world, including more than its fair share of celebrities. During its early days it was frequented by some of the most iconic celebrities that included Mark Twain, Oscar Wilde, Napoleon III, Czech composer Dvorák and it was one of the most favourite spots for the British royal family as well.
From 2004 to 2009 several renovations took place in the hotel to restore it to its original form with the total estimated cost of up to 80 million USD.
The hotel was featured in many movies and tv shows. However, it has also been frequented by a number of ghosts.
The most common sighting is of a man in victorian evening wear in ROOM 333,who apparently appears only during October. Room 333 is said to be one of the most haunted rooms around the world. Another guest claimed to have seen the figure of a man in military attire standing by the window of the fourth floor who is apparently believed to be the ghost of a soldier who killed himself by jumping from the same window. There’s a ghost butler that vanishes when it’s approached. It is also believed that the ghost of Napolean 3, another former guest haunts the basement of the hotel.
A BBC reporter while staying in room 333 was awoken at night and he saw a ball of light moving towards him. It slowly started transforming itself into an almost complete human form. The reporter ran out of the room and took a colleague with him back to the room, the figure was still there but was slowly fading away. During one of their stays there, the English cricket team were troubled by the spooky occurrences and they became convinced that the hotel was haunted. Taps would turn on/off by themselves. They also felt a strong presence with them during their stay at the hotel. They were always woken up by sounds and could not sleep at all. Stuart broad and his wife were particularly most affected by these occurrences and they went to sleep in another teammates twin room. The next day the team requested a change of hotel because they could not sleep at all.
